Our Story John KramerAs a kid, I loved being outdoors. Fishing, water skiing, biking, going to the beach, Bbq’s and bon fires. The biggest influence with my love of the outdoors and plants came from my family. Planning and design is in my blood. My grandfather was a professor of Urban and regional planning at Georgia Tech. My mother and brother later got their Masters in Urban and Regional planning and have had careers in that field. My father is a retired Architect. As a kid, I pulled weeds for friends in elementary school. I actually got my first boat by picking up sticks. In middle school I started pushing my dads lawn mower around the neighborhood. In high school I got my first truck and commercial lawn mower and hired a friend. Most of high-school and college it was friends helping me to cut grass. We made friends in field. Nurseries, sod farms, irrigation installers, landscape architects, contractors, paver guys, lawn spray techs… we read a lot of books and have taken courses too but most of what we learned was in the field. We also learned all of the bad stuff too. Sadly, everyday we see thousands and thousands of dollars wasted. Plants installed in areas they should not’t be. Plants being planted too deep or too high. Plants not getting enough water or getting too much. The more we learned, the more we saw how much was wrong. When you build a house, you have a plan that is approved buy a city and a county. Licensed contractors of all different trades perform jobs that are then inspected by the city and/or county. We have built our reputation on results. We grow from word of mouth. We love the outdoors and we want our clients to enjoy their outdoors. Too many people dread going outside. It’s overwhelming and stresses them out. We want our clients to be excited about going outside! Having get togethers, throwing the ball, reading a book, having your morning coffee. We want to build an oasis, not a thorn in your side. That’s why with every design we a looking for that sweet spot between what looks good and what will last. Our Mission statement: Creating outdoor spaces you can't wait to come home to!
